Jeff Williams, M.D.

Dr. Jeff Williams is a board certified Gastroenterologist. He graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Biochemistry. He completed medical school and his residency at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. After Emory, Dr. Williams left Georgia and headed north where he completed his fellowship at the esteemed University of Virginia. Dr. Williams specialized in Biliary Disease and ERCP procedures while attending the University of Virginia.

Dr. Williams started his career at Dekalb Gastroenterology. Next, he moved to Texas where he was Director of Endoscopy at Trinity Mother Frances in Tyler, Texas. Dr. Williams, with his vast knowledge and experience, moved back to Georgia in 2006. Shortly after moving back to the Classic City Dr. Williams opened his own practice, Athens Gastroenterology Association P.C. with the desire to serve and meet the gastrointestinal needs of Athens and the surrounding counties. Once AGA was up and running, Dr. Williams expanded his practice in 2010 by building his own Certified Ambulatory Surgery Center, Athens Gastroenterology Endoscopy Center. The surgery center allows you to have procedures in the comfort and caring atmosphere of a private facility. Dr. Williams has over 23 years of experience, and is known for his cheerful and optimistic attitude. He is a passionate and caring Physician who will go above and beyond for your medical care.

Dr. Williams is very active in Mercy Health Center, a Christian based health care organization in Athens, Georgia. Additionally he is involved with Fish Medical located in Monroe, Georgia, also a Christian based clinic for patients in that area. He is affiliated with the Medical College of Georgia where he mentors and teaches medical students.

Dr. Williams’ interests include traveling with his wife and four kids, all things sports, and Classic Cars. He likes studying history, medicine, and economics. When not attending to patients, he is very active in his kids activities. He is known as “master of the grill” and enjoys cooking delicious dishes for his family, friends, and office staff. He likes to spend his free time playing golf and has a passion for helping others.
